about

This is the first release of a new series based on the concept of positive feedback and the taming of the howling that comes from it to create richer sounds.

Through the use of mixers and different audio routing schemes, two to three percussive elements manage to produce a wide palette of sounds and textures that give the illusion of being far more elaborate rhythmic passages than what they really are. They all begin as regular percussive rhythms, then feedback pushes them into complex layers of swelling beats and bursts of noise.

These samples are fully analog percussive sounds, and in most cases, completely dry so that you can throw in the reverbs and effects of your choice, and adapt them to your own pieces and compositions with ease. However, please remember that feedback itself is by nature a bit overwhelming, so the samples are in most cases already dense.

Also bear in mind that these sounds have been recorded onto tape, so the low end may not be as boomy and punchy as you'd expect from modern setups, which is actually beneficial for fitting the sounds into more elaborate compositions and leaving space for other sounds.

You can use these samples as the foundation for your tracks, as textures and background motifs in your songs, as additional percussions, or to slice them up while you're layering beats, sound designing, and more.

All sounds in the demo are from the sample pack and have some plugins added on to them to spice them up.

- Over 40 minutes of audio in total.
- All sounds created with fully analog gear and tape cassettes.
- 29 samples of rhythms and percussion + 1 bonus sample (sounds from one of the old Japanese tapes used in the recording).
- Digitized at 32-bit / 96 kHz for optimum quality -- 1.83 GB of audio. This may not be compatible with most samplers out there but it surely helps in crating much richer textures and deeper sounds out of these 40 minutes of noisy samples, besides, it's the rate I've been using for many other things as of late.

It's fascinating how twisted sounds can be reminiscent of bad hallucinations, bizarre memories and dreams.
